Hi folks - I’m hoping at least one of you noticed that I missed posting this weekend. I am in the middle of a move (not far), but ended up needing to pack all weekend.
So that’s this week.
And because the madness always seems to clump together, my long planned trip to hike the Wonderland Trail begins Thursday, so I will take next weekend off as well. I love long hikes away from connectivity. They give me time to think without any distractions other than keeping one foot moving in front of the other. I’m behind on my podcast listening, so I’ll definitely use those for inspiration (and distraction) on some of the more difficult climbs.
I’m “only” hiking a bout 12 miles a day, but since there's a lot of elevation gain (and loss) every day on this trail, they won’t be fast miles. That said, I hope to get into camp most days by mid-afternoon and take some time to relax and read (I almost always bring my Kindle when I hike). The (potential) reading list for this hike includes:
The Right Kind of Wrong by Amy Edmondson. I love learning from failure, and can’t wait to read more of Edmondson’s ideas on the topic
The Outsider by Stephen King - I started reading this a while back, but got busy and forgot about it. I recently started re-reading it, and look forward to seeing how it plays out
Think Again by Adam Grant - I’ve been meaning to read this for a few months, and hope to make a good dent on this trip. The premise of the book matches a lot of what I (think) I’ve tried to do, so curious to see what I can learn.
That’s (probably) all from me until the end of the month. If you’ve read this far, know that I really appreciate that you read these little blurbs from me.
